What makes it special? Commemorative notes in the denominations of 60 Ringgit and 600 Ringgit were issued for the 60th anniversary of the Malayan Declaration of Independence on August 31, 1957. Malaysia celebrates its annual Independence Day holiday on the anniversary of the declaration. The front of the notes show the 15 leaders of Malaysia over its first 60 years. The back of the note shows the signing of the declaration.

Did you know? The 600 Ringgit note is the largest legal tender note in the world, measuring 370 x 220 mm (14.5 inches by 8.6 inches), or slightly larger than a legal-size piece of paper. It eclipsed the size of the previous record holder, the Philippines 1998 100,000 Piso, celebrating that nation's centennial of its independence (356 x 216 mm).
