What makes it special? On June 20, summer begins in the Northern Hemisphere. The beach scene on this note from the Bahamas conjures the spirit of summertime. Other 1968 Bahamas notes also had themes resonating with tourists, including the Straw Market on the Half Dollar; colorful fish and coral on the Dollar; the Columbus Statue outside Government House on the Five Dollars; flamingos on the 10 Dollars; a horse-drawn carriage on the 20 Dollars; a produce market on the 50 Dollars; and deep sea fishing on the 100 Dollars.

PMG Registry: Pick# 28a is part of two sets: Monetary Authority, 1968 Series Type Set, P26-P33 and Bahamas, 1897-Date, PA4B-Date, Issued Notes, Type Set. Alan Collection Malaysia holds top honors in the former with the Bahamas 1968 Series set, which includes a PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ example. Brufe leads the latter with AB's Bahamas Notes set, which also includes a PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ example.
