PMG Registry Featured Set: Ukraine, 1991-Date

Sometimes, as the saying goes, there’s no such thing as too much of a good thing. Such is the case with this comprehensive PMG Registry set, a Ukraine, 1991-Date set by Fenntucky Mike, found here.

We have featured Fenntucky Mike before, and he continues to expand and improve his Ukraine sets to an even more impressive level. Recipient of a prestigious 2022 PMG Registry Award, his 1991-Date, Complete Including Varieties set here has a large number of recent additions. With around 20 new PMG high-grade notes, this 92% complete set now boasts a whopping 126 entries and images for all. This set is loaded with truly exceptional notes, Star/Replacement notes and fancy serial numbers: the 1993 2000 Karbovantsiv Star note with repeating digits; a 1993 100,000 Karbovantsiv with a fractional prefix; and his 1994 100,000 Karbovantsiv with unique prefix letters, to name a few.

With 130 slots already, this expansive set type is about to get a few more 2024 slots to fill. As mentioned in BanknoteNews, there are two new exciting releases from the National Bank of Ukraine, a 500 Hryven note and a 1,000 Hryven note. Commemorating the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, these notes resemble earlier issues. There are two new slogans, “Glory to Ukraine” and “Glory to the heroes!” — important additions to both issues. These notes are sure to be popular and will make lovely additions to the complete PMG Registry Ukraine sets.
