PMG Registry Featured Set: Poland Commemoratives

An important historical event, the 80th Anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising in 1944, has arrived. In a tribute to the bravery of Polish resistance fighters during August 1944, the National Bank of Poland recently issued a new 20 Zlotych note. This commemorative note is vibrant yet gritty with realistic wartime scenes: German prisoners of war, Polish soldiers, a ruined church, the Polish flag and more. Ryanvuong sits in the coveted #1 spot right now for this set type. It is easy to see why he is at the top of the pack; most of his notes are a PMG 67 Superb Gem Uncirculated EPQ and above. His 2014 20 Zlotych note, commemorating Polish Legions in World War I and Commander Jozef Pilsudski, for example, is a lovely piece, graded PMG 68 Superb Gem Uncirculated EPQ.

The star of this set, literally and figuratively, is his 2022 20 Zlotych note. A tribute to the defense of Poland’s eastern border, this note features a Black Hawk police helicopter, border patrol guards, a fighter jet and other details of an intense day’s patrol. This modern set is the most popular Poland commemorative PMG Registry set, and with a start date of 2014, it is a lovely, small set for collectors of all budgets. For those who prefer a bigger challenge, the 1916-Date Type Set here is the one to try; it requires an impressive number of notes and also includes this new 20 Zlotych commemorative issue. Whether one’s preferences are big or small, there is a PMG Registry set waiting for everyone.
