Please be advised of the following important information about the PMG Population Report.
All notes with serial numbers that are resubmitted (i.e. submitted more than once) for PMG grading are represented as a single note in the PMG Population Report. If the grade has changed for a resubmission, only the note’s current grade is represented.
The PMG Population Report is provided as a resource to paper money hobbyists. The utilization of this report as a tool for assessing the population and value of certified paper money is unreliable. Certain characteristics inherent to the marketplace undermine the accuracy of this report.
- Inexpensive notes which are not generally submitted for certification may appear scarce but are not.
- Paper money certification services are used predominantly for higher grade notes.
- Certified paper money can be removed from their holders without notice to the grading service. Therefore, computer tallies utilized to provide population reports may be misleading.
- Rarity is only one factor which must be weighed in determining the market value of paper money.
PMG encourages all collectors to seek the counsel of qualified numismatists familiar with the certified paper money marketplace before making any purchase based on this report.
