Polish Auction Offers Hundreds of NGC-certified Coins and PMG-certified Banknotes

The Salon Numizmatyczny Mateusz Wojcicki sale features coins and notes from Poland and elsewhere.

Hundreds of coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) and banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) are featured in an upcoming Salon Numizmatyczny Mateusz Wojcicki sale. Online bidding already is underway for IX Auction, with sessions being held February 26-March 2, 2022.

Most of the coins and notes being offered are from Poland. Among the coins, the top lot is a Poland 1638 II Taler graded NGC MS 62 (lot 253), with a starting price of €11,161 (about $12,700). The obverse features a portrait of King Wladyslaw IV, who ruled Poland from 1632 to 1648.

The top note in the auction is a rare Poland 1924 5 Zlotych graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated (lot 2230), with a starting price of €10,045 (about $11,400). The PMG Population Report contains 18 issued examples of this note, with this example tied for finest graded.

Other NGC-graded highlights in the auction include:

  • a Poland 1782 EB Taler graded NGC MS 61 (lot 321), with a starting price of €8,929 (about $10,100)
  • a Poland 1639 II Taler graded NGC MS 60 (lot 90), with a starting price of €4,464 (about $5,100)
  • a Poland 1925 5 Zlotych graded NGC AU Details (lot 461), with a starting price of €4,464 (about $5,100)
  • a Danzig 1923 5 Pfennig graded NGC MS 63 (lot 621), with a starting price of €4,464 (about $5,100)
  • a Germany 1731 IGS Taler graded NGC MS 61 (lot 287), with a starting price of €3,348 (about $3,800)

Other PMG-graded highlights in the auction include:

  • a Danzig, Bank of Danzig 1924 100 Gulden graded PMG 35 Choice Very Fine (lot 2097), with a starting price of €4,018 (about $4,600)
  • a Poland, Bank of Polski 1919 (ND 1924) 10 Zlotych graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated (lot 2211), with a starting price of €4,018 (about $4,600)
  • a Poland, Bank of Polski 1919 (ND 1924) 5 Zlotych graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated EPQ (lot 2209), with a starting price of €2,232 (about $2,500)
  • a Poland, Bank of Polski 1919 (ND 1924) 10 Zlotych graded PMG 25 Very Fine (lot 2212), with a starting price of €2,232 (about $2,500)
  • a Poland, Ministry of Finance 1925 2 Zlote graded PMG 67 Superb Gem Uncirculated EPQ (lot 2196), with a starting price of €1,786 (about $2,000)
