Rare Ireland Specimens Among PMG-certified Notes in December Auction

The World Banknote Auctions sale features hundreds of banknotes graded by PMG.

More than 500 banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) from over 100 countries are being featured in an upcoming World Banknote Auctions sale. Online bidding has already begun for World Banknote Auctions Live Sale 19, which concludes on December 23, 2021.

Among the top notes in the sale is an Ireland - Eire, Bank of Ireland 1978 (ND 1929) £10 Specimen graded PMG 53 About Uncirculated (lot 19428). It is one of only two such Specimens in the PMG Population Report for this catalog number, examples of which are seldom offered for sale. It has an estimate of $6,500 to $7,500.

The sale also includes a Color Trial Specimen of the same catalog number, the only one in the PMG Population Report (lot 19427). Graded PMG 55 About Uncirculated, the note is a striking red in color, in stark contrast to the blue of the issued notes. It has an estimate of $5,000 to $6,000.
