They include a high-denomination Malaya and British Borneo note that is seldom seen.

More than 500 rare banknotes from Asia that have been certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) are showcased in an upcoming Heritage Auctions sale. Bidding is already underway for the HKINF World Paper Money Signature Auction - Hong Kong, with the sale concluding on December 11, 2021.

One of the top notes in the sale is a Malaya and British Borneo / British Administration 1953 1,000 Dollars graded PMG 40 Extremely Fine (lot 26472). This was the highest denomination used in circulation at the time and it was of considerable worth. Consequently, few were saved; today, only 19 issued examples are recorded in the PMG Population Report.
