PMG-certified Canadian Banknote Among Highlights of January Sale

World banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) are expected to lead the way in Stack's Bowers Session B - World Paper Money Auction. Online bidding for the auction is currently underway, with live bidding beginning on January 15, 2021.
The top lot in the sale is a Canada, Royal Canadian Bank 1865 $2 graded PMG 25 Very Fine, with an estimate of $17,500 to $25,000. According to Stack's, the Charlton Standard Catalog of Canadian Bank Notes describes this Charlton Number as having "No Known Issued Notes". It is also the only note of its kind in the PMG Population Report.

- a Dominion of Canada 1878 $1 Payable at St. John graded PMG 15 Choice Fine with an estimate of $10,000 to $15,000
- a Panamá, Banco Central de Emisión 1941 5 Balboas graded PMG 20 Very Fine with an estimate of $6,000 to $12,000
- a Dominion of Canada 1898 $1 graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated EPQ with an estimate of $7,000 to $10,000
- a Ceylon / British Administration 1929 50 Rupees Specimen graded PMG 50 About Uncirculated with an estimate of $7,000 to $10,000
- a Madagascar, Banque de Madagascar ND (1937) 1000 Francs graded PMG 15 Choice Fine with an estimate of $8,000 to $10,000
- a Portuguese India 1924 100 Rupias Specimen graded PMG 62 Uncirculated NET with an estimate of $7,000 to $10,000
- a Dominion of Canada 1924 $5 graded PMG 45 Choice Extremely Fine with an estimate of $7,000 to $9,000
- a Canada, Bank of Ottawa 1913 $5 graded PMG 20 Very Fine with an estimate of $5,000 to $7,000
- a Honduras, Banco de Honduras 1889 5 Pesos graded PMG 20 Very Fine with an estimate of $5,000 to $7,000
