PMG-certified Banknotes Featured in Hong Kong Sale
Posted on 12/14/2020
Hundreds of rare banknotes from China and elsewhere certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) are featured in Heritage Auctions’ upcoming HKINF World Paper Money sale being held in Hong Kong from December 17-19, 2020. Online bidding is now open.
An exceptionally rare China / People's Republic 1951 1,000 Yuan graded PMG 62 Uncirculated is the most anticipated note in the sale. It is estimated at $50,000 USD and up.
Notes created for Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang, known as Outer Province types, are nearly impossible to find in Uncirculated grade. Only five examples graded Uncirculated are in the PMG Population Report and only four with this design have sold in public auction since 2014.
