PMG-Certified Banknotes Highlight Spink World Banknote Sales

World banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) are expected to lead the way in three Spink sales being held from November 2-4,2020 in London. Online bidding is now open for Auction 20009, Auction 20111 and Auction 20113 .
The most anticipated note in Auction 20009 is an India, Reserve Bank ND (1959) 100 Rupees graded PMG 50 About Uncirculated, with an estimate of £40,000 to £50,000 (about $52,000 to $65,000 USD). In 1959, the Reserve Bank of India issued these special notes for the Haj pilgrimage, the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca. The vibrant red note features the Lion Capital of Ashoka, a sculpture originally placed atop an Ashoka pillar around 250 B.C. that has since become the official emblem of India.
