Sedwick’s Auction 24 to Feature NGC-graded Coins and PMG-graded Notes

Many rare and, in some cases, unique NGC-graded coins and PMG-graded notes are up for bidding in Daniel Frank Sedwick, LLC’s Treasure, World, U.S. Coin and Paper Money Auction 24 to be held on Nov. 2-3, 2018. The floor auction will take place live in Orlando, Florida and online at auction.sedwickcoins.com, with an internet-only session to follow on Nov. 5.
NGC-graded coins
- Lot 1 - Mexico City, Mexico, cob 8 escudos, 1713J, graded NGC MS 64, ex-1715 Fleet (designated on label). Estimate: $12,500 and up.
- Lot 5 - Mexico City, Mexico, cob 8 escudos, 1715J, special planchet and strike, graded NGC MS 64, ex-1715 Fleet (designated on label), Lopez-Chaves and Yriarte Plate. Estimate: $35,000 to $50,000.
- Lot 8 - Mexico City, Mexico, cob 4 escudos, 1714J, graded NGC MS 65, ex-1715 Fleet (designated on label). Estimate: $7,500 to $11,000.
- Lot 23 - Lima, Peru, cob 8 escudos, 1709M, graded NGC MS 63, ex-1715 Fleet (designated on label). Estimate: $15,000 and up.
- Lot 33 - Lima, Peru, cob 8 escudos, 1715M, graded NGC XF 45, ex-Loosdrecht (1719). Estimate: $10,000 and up.
- Lot 43 - Lima, Peru, cob 4 escudos, 1701H, posthumous Charles II, graded NGC MS 64, ex-1715 Fleet (designated on label). Estimate: $12,500 to $20,000.
- Lot 47 - Lima, Peru, cob 4 escudos, 1750R, cross side struck from 8E die, graded NGC MS 63, ex-Luz (1752). Estimate: $6,000 to $9,000.
- Lot 146 - Cuba (struck at the Philadelphia mint), specimen 20 pesos, 1915, graded NGC SP 63. Estimate: $20,000 and up.

- Lot 217 - Seville, Spain, milled 8 escudos, Charles II, 1701M, S-M to left and VIII to right of shield, flower after V, graded NGC MS 62. Estimate: $7,000 to $10,000.
- Lot 225 - Madrid, Spain, bust 4 escudos, Ferdinand VI, 1749JB, graded NGC MS 61. Estimate: $10,000 and $15,000.

- Lot 639 - USA (San Francisco mint), gold $20 coronet Liberty "double eagle," 1857-S, graded NGC AU 58 / SS Republic. Estimate: $6,000 to $9,000.
- Lot 664 - Mexico City, Mexico, 3 reales, Charles-Joanna, "Early Series," assayer R (Rincon) at bottom between pillars, with waves, three-dots denomination, all-Gothic lettering except O, graded NGC VF 30, ex-Rudman (stated on label). Estimate: $35,000 and up.
- Lot 665 - Mexico City, Mexico, 2 reales, Charles-Joanna, "Early Series," assayer R (Gothic) at bottom below pillars, PLVSVLT in rounded panel, graded NGC AU 53, ex-Kent Ponterio, ex-Rudman (stated on label). Estimate: $10,000 and up.
- Lot 1009 - Costa Rica, 1/2 real, "lion" countermark (Type VI, 1849-57) on a USA (Philadelphia mint), Capped Bust half dime, 1835, graded NGC Fine 12, c/s AU standard. Estimate: $1,000 and up.
- Lot 1014 - Costa Rica, 1 real, 1847JB, normal B, colonial-style edge (very rare), "Madonna and child" proclamation issue, graded NGC AU 53. Estimate: $2,000 to $3,000.
- Lot 1117 - Tegucigalpa, Honduras, provisional "imitation cob" 4 reales, 1824-(P)MPY, with quadrants of cross transposed and backwards lions, graded NGC MS 62, ex-Richard Stuart (stated on label). Estimate: $5,000 and up.
- Lot 1209 - Mexico City, Mexico, proof copper pattern 25 centavos, 1869C, graded NGC PF 64 BN. Estimate: $5,000 and up.
- Lot 1253 - Cuzco, Peru, 8 reales, 1837BA, raised edge-lettering, graded NGC MS 63, ex-Millennia (stated on label). Estimate: $6,000 to $9,000.
- Lot 1304 - Venezuela (struck at the Paris mint), 1 venezolano, 1876-A, graded NGC AU 58. Estimate: $8,000 to $12,000.
- Lot 1317 - Potosi, Bolivia, 2 reales-sized silver proclamation medal, 1825, liberation of Colombia and Peru, graded NGC MS 63, ex-Cotoca. Estimate: $400 to $600. Another 36 medals from the Cotoca collection, all graded by NGC, are also offered in the sale.
- Lot 1432 - USA (struck in Italy for Paraguay), large white-metal medal, Columbian Exposition, 1892, by R. Muzio, Cristobal Colon, graded NGC MS 63. Estimate: $300 to $450.
- Lot 1530 - USA (Denver mint), 10 cents "Winged Liberty," 1916-D, graded NGC VF 30. Estimate: $2,500 to $3,750.
- Lot 1537 - Jacksonville, Florida, Bank of St. Johns, $10, 21-3-1859, serial 1963, graded PMG Very Fine 20. Estimate: $400 to $600.
