Swiss Banknote Named IBNS Note of the Year

A 10 Francs helps its country win top honors again.

Once again, the International Bank Note Society (IBNS) has recognized the best circulating banknote of the year, and once again, the winning note is from Switzerland.

The criteria for a banknote to be considered were:

  • The note must have been issued to the public during 2017
  • The note needed to be submitted to the IBNS Journal
  • The note has to be circulating currency (no specimens are allowed)
  • The note has to have artist merit with imaginative designs and show good use of color
