PMG Note-grading Contests Open to Public at FUN Show

Posted on 12/20/2017

Collectors and dealers can compete for a top prize of $1,000 at the Tampa convention.

Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) is excited to announce two note-grading contests — one for adults and one for Young Numismatists — at the 2018 Florida United Numismatists (FUN) Show in Tampa, Florida.

The prize of the adult (age 18 and older) contest is $1,000 cash. The prize for the Young Numismatist (age 12-17) contest is $1,000 towards attending the American Numismatic Association (ANA) Summer Seminar June 16-28 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

These contests are free and open to both collectors and dealers. They will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday, January 5, and Saturday, January 6, 2018, at the PMG Booth (#128).

Contestants will be given 10 minutes to grade 15 notes at the PMG booth without any outside assistance. The notes will be a mix of grades and types, and may include altered and not genuine notes. Contestants must write their grades legibly on a sheet of paper provided by PMG and submit it to the PMG representative before the 10 minutes are over.

Certified Collectibles Group employees and their immediate family members are not eligible. PMG reserves the right of final interpretation of this promotion, including the right to disqualify any contestant.

Visit the PMG Booth (#128) at the show to learn more. Winners will be contacted by January 31, 2018. In the event of tie, the prize amounts will be split evenly between the winners.
