IBNS Banknote of the Year

The IBNS will announce the winner of the 2017 Bank Note of the Year Award in April 2018.

Once again the International Bank Note Society (IBNS) is recognizing the best circulating banknote of the year.

The criteria for a banknote to be chosen are:

  • The note must have been issued to the public during 2017
  • The note needed to be submitted to the IBNS Journal
  • The note has to be circulating currency (no specimens are allowed)
  • The note has to have artist merit with imaginative designs and show good use of color
  • Design features that utilize modern security will be taken into consideration.

If more than one note from the same family of banknotes share features or security elements, only one note will be eligible for nomination. In order to vote you need to be a member. Voting will close on January 31, 2018. The winner will be announced April 2018.
