NGC, NCS and PMG at Two China Hong Kong Shows in August

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®), Numismatic Conservation Services® (NCS®) and Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) will attend the Hong Kong Coin Show (HKCS) at The Mira Hotel in Hong Kong, August 18-20, 2017, as well as the Hong Kong International Coin Convention (HICC) at the Holiday Inn Golden Mile in Hong Kong, China, August 25-27, 2017.

The following services will be offered at these two shows:

NGC ACAB submissions

The NGC Advanced Chinese Authentication Bureau (ACAB) will be accepting submissions in Hong Kong, China from August 14-20 for vintage Chinese coins struck prior to 1949. Submit to the NGC ACAB at booths A1-A3 at the HKCS or contact NGC Hong Kong to schedule an appointment to submit at our office. For more details, click here.

Led by renowned expert Chen Gi Mao, the NGC ACAB was established in March 2017 to provide a higher level of authentication services for vintage Chinese coins. After coins are authenticated by the NGC ACAB they are transferred to NGC for grading and encapsulated with the prestigious NGC ACAB Red Dragon label.

Show Submissions

Submit for NGC grading, NCS conservation and PMG grading at booths A1-A3 during the HKCS and booths 230-231 at the HICC.

All submissions received by NGC, NCS and PMG are shipped with insurance to the companies’ headquarters in the US for grading and, if requested, conservation. After grading, coins and notes are shipped with insurance to the companies’ China Hong Kong office for pickup. All submissions must be picked up at the China Hong Kong office.

There is a four-week estimated turnaround time for NGC and PMG, not including shipping or NCS submissions.

Note: Submissions will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to expected high demand there may be limited availability for the four week turnaround time and later submissions may receive longer turnaround times. NGC, NCS and PMG will endeavor to complete and return all submissions as quickly as possible.

Please note: PMG is not offering expedited grading at these shows; it will next be available at the Hong Kong International Numismatic Fair, Dec. 8-10.

Free PMG Evaluations

Rick Stelzer, a PMG Grading Consultant, will be conducting free evaluations of paper money in conjunction with the HKCS. Evaluations will be provided 10:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:00, August 18 and August 20. (Please note that free PMG evaluations will not be offered on Saturday, August 19.) To ensure that we help as many people as possible, there is a limit of 10 notes per person for the free evaluations. Evaluations are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Note: Because evaluations are performed in a show environment, as opposed to our standard grading environment (with proper lighting conditions and facilities), all opinions should be used only as a guide. The grading opinion may change after the notes are submitted and evaluated at our office. Representatives from NGC, NCS and PMG will also be available to answer questions and explain the benefits of NGC, NCS and PMG.
