Sanchez will consult on virtually all aspects of PMG’s operations with a particular focus on authentication and grading of US paper money.

Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) has announced that respected US currency expert Sergio Sanchez, Jr., has joined its team as a consultant.

As one of the industry’s most prominent dealers for the past two decades, Sanchez has handled many of the greatest collections of US paper money ever to come to market. Sanchez helped assemble and, later, facilitate the sale of the Dr. and Mrs. Edward Dauer Collection, which is considered by many to be the most important collection of US paper money, and he is among fewer than 10 individuals to broker a sale of a note for more than $1 million.

Sanchez served three terms as president of the Professional Currency Dealer Association (PCDA), the largest organization for paper money dealers. He has also published several scholarly articles on US paper money and has provided significant input for the Whitman Encyclopedia of US Paper Money, Paper Money of the United States and A Guide Book of United States Paper Money (The Official Red Book).

“Sergio’s extensive experience and knowledge will have an immediate impact at PMG,” says Mark Salzberg, chairman of PMG. “We are honored to have such a distinguished expert join PMG as a consultant.”

“I am very excited to work with PMG,” adds Sanchez. “I have always had great respect for the PMG grading team and I look forward to working with them.”

Sanchez will consult on virtually all aspects of PMG’s operations with a particular focus on authentication and grading of US paper money. He will continue to operate Sergio Sanchez Rare Coins and Currency in Miami, Florida, and will travel frequently to PMG’s headquarters in Sarasota, Florida.
