Top Professionals Will Certify Paper Money

Paper Money Guaranty LLC (PMG) is set to commence operations in February of 2005.

The company is a division of the The Certified Collectibles Group, and it will provide the same level of expertise and integrity as other CCG companies such as Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), Comic Guaranty LLC (CGC) and Numismatic Conservation Services (NCS).

A team of skilled paper money graders has been assembled, with Glen Jorde as the Grading Finalizer. Jorde is a Past President of the Professional Currency Dealers Association and continues to serve on its board.

“The creation of a truly professional and impartial paper money grading and encapsulation service is a dream I’ve shared with the people at CCG for some time,” Mr. Jorde observed. “The combination of knowledgable people and the finest facility is something that only CCG could put together, and I’m delighted to be a part of it.”

Glen’s days as a dealer are drawing to a close. Like all PMG employees, he is prohibited from buying and selling paper currency. This will enable the company to maintain its independent, third-party position, thus avoiding any conflict of interest.

“We’re really excited about PMG,” stated Certified Collectibles Group CEO Steve Eichenbaum. “For a long time the marketplace has needed a third-party grading service whose standards are beyond reproach and whose people possess the skills needed to do the job properly. Collectors and dealers will be able to buy in confidence, enjoying the same reliable certification that coin enthusiasts have known with NGC for many years.”

Eichenbaum then added, “The creation of PMG is consistent with our long term vision for The Certified Collectibles Group of providing independent, third-party grading and authentication over a wide range of collectibles.”

PMG will utilize a 70-point grading scale. It was determined that this is the most desirable scale, as it is already familiar to those in the numismatic field.

PMG holders will consist entirely of archival-quality materials that provide state-of-the-art protection. Initially, PMG will be accepting submissions of only large size and small size United States federal currency. A schedule of grading fees and instructions for submitting notes to PMG will be published shortly.

PMG may be contacted by writing to P.O. Box 4711, Sarasota, FL 34230 or by calling toll-free at 800-587-1897. PMG’s email address is: join@collectors-society.com.
