Trigometric Offers PMG-certified Rarities from Southeast Asia

Several PMG®-certified rarities from Southeast Asia are expected to realize five figures in an upcoming Trigometric sale, including two from a stunning numismatic collection dedicated to the region. Bidding is already underway for Trigometric October 2026 Auction, which concludes on October 10, 2026.

The top two lots in the auction are a Malaya 1942; ND (1945) 50 Dollars Color Trial Specimen graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated EPQ and pedigreed to the Frank Goon Collection (lot 1493), with an estimate of RM58,000 to RM120,000 (about $14,000 to $29,000); and a Straits Settlements ND (ca. 1860s) 50 Dollars Front Proof graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated (lot 1468), with an estimate of RM40,000 to RM80,000 (about $10,000 to $20,000). Each is a "Top Pop" in the PMG Population Report for its each catalog number, with the Malaya note represented by four other examples and the Straits Settlements note represented by only one other example.

Additional PMG-certified rarities in the auction include:

• a lot of nine Straits Settlements / British Administration 1919 10 Cents with consecutive serial numbers, each graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated (lot 1472), with an estimate of RM36,000 to RM50,000 (about $8,800 to $12,000)
• a Malaysia, Bank Negara ND (1967-72) 1,000 Ringgit graded PMG 30 Very Fine (lot 1219), with an estimate of RM23,000 to RM40,000 (about $5,600 to $9,800)
• a British North Borneo / British Administration 1896-1911 10 Dollars graded PMG 25 Very Fine (lot 1467), with an estimate of RM15,000 to RM30,000 (about $3,700 to $7,300)
• a Malaysia, Bank Negara ND (1976-1981) 1,000 Ringgit graded PMG 30 Very Fine (lot 1245), with an estimate of RM13,000 to RM30,000 (about $3,200 to $6,400)
• a Malaya / British Administration 1942 (ND 1945) 50 Dollars graded PMG 45 Choice Extremely Fine (lot 1492), with an estimate of RM13,000 to RM30,000 (about $2,900 to $7,300)
• a lot of two Singapore Board of Commissioners of Currency 5 Dollars (an ND 1970 and an ND 1972), graded PMG 65 Gem Uncirculated EPQ and PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ (lot 1426), with an estimate of RM15,000 to RM20,000 (about $3,700 to $4,900)
