Among the PMG-certified highlights of this auction is a Straits Settlements 1931-35 10 Dollars Specimen graded PMG 45 Choice Extremely Fine (lot 230), with an estimate of more than SG 17,000 (about $13,000).

This note was issued for use in the Straits Settlements, which included Singapore, Penang, and Malacca, as part of the final series produced before the territory was dissolved during World War II. Specimen notes were created for archival purposes, distribution to banks, and government agencies, as well as referenced by printers, making them far scarcer than circulating examples. Their rarity, strong connection to pre-war Southeast Asian history, and appeal across both British colonial and world currency collecting have made high-grade specimens especially prized in the numismatic market.
