NGC-certified Polish Rarity Expected to Lead June Sale

The 17th century coin is among the top highlights in an auction presented by Michal Niemczyk Antykwariat Numizmatyczny.

A seldom-seen 3 Ducat coin is among the NGC®-certified rarities in an upcoming Michal Niemczyk Antykwariat Numizmatyczny auction. Online bidding is already underway for Auction 54, which is being presented in five sessions from June 27 to July 1, 2026.

A top highlight in the sale is a Poland 1659 HL Thorn 3 Ducats graded NGC MS 61 (lot 874), with a starting price of 150,000 PLN (about $41,000). Four examples are listed in the NGC Census, and this is the sole-highest graded and the only one numerically graded. The obverse depicts King John II Casimir, who was about halfway through his 20-year reign at the time of the coin's striking. The reverse has a sweeping view of Thorn, one of Poland's oldest cities.

  • a Danzig 1930 25 Gulden graded NGC MS 64+ (lot 2686), with a starting price of 13,000 PLN (about $3,500)
  • a Russia 1910 EB 10 Roubles graded NGC MS 63 (lot 2272), with a starting price of 12,000 PLN (about $3,300)
  • a Germany 1719 IGS Saxony Taler graded NGC MS 62 (lot 983), with a starting price of 10,000 PLN (about $2,700)
  • a Poland 1829 FH 5 Zlotych graded NGC MS 61 (lot 1123), with a starting price of 5,000 PLN (about $1,400)

  • a Poland 1925 2 Zlotych Specimen graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated (lot 4124), with a starting price of 1,500 PLN (about $400)
  • a Poland, National Bank 1944 500 Zlotych graded PMG 58 Choice About Uncirculated (lot 4186), with a starting price of 1,500 PLN (about $400)
  • a Poland, State Loan Bank 1919 1,000 Marek graded PMG 53 About Uncirculated (lot 4057), with a starting price of 700 PLN (about $190)
  • a US - Detroit, Michigan 1929 $100 National Bank Note graded PMG 40 Extremely Fine (lot 4406), with a starting price of 500 PLN (about $140)
  • a Confederate States of America 1864 10 Dollars graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated EPQ (lot 4401), with a starting price of 300 PLN (about $80)
