PMG Registry Featured Set: Jordan

Jordan gained its independence from the United Kingdom on May 25, 1946, and shortly afterward, it began issuing its own paper money. The PMG Registry contains six categories for the Mideast nation between Israel and Iraq, with the most popular being Jordan, 1949-Date, Type Set, Issued Notes. Dr. Asem Albasheer leads a field of 21 competitors with his Jordan Complete Sets from P1 - To Date.

This first-place set is 100% complete, with images for every note. This makes it a great way to explore Jordanian paper money, especially the scarcer early issues like the 1949 10 Dinars (one of fewer than 80 in the PMG Population Report, with only one graded higher).

The set includes four banknotes that earned PMG's highest grade, including a 2022 / AH1443 20 Dinars showing Jordan's King Hussein, who ruled from 1952 to 1999. In the background is the King Hussein Mosque in his hometown of Amman, Jordan's capital and largest city.

This comprehensive collection was a 2025 PMG Registry Award Winner for Best World Set.
