PMG Registry Featured Set: Jersey
Posted on 4/21/2026
Queen Elizabeth II was born on April 21, 1926, and served as queen for 70 years starting in 1952. Upon her death in 2022, her eldest son, Charles III, became ruler of the United Kingdom as well as 14 other Commonwealth realms, including Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. The United Kingdom itself includes three Crown Dependencies not far from England: the Isle of Man, Guernsey, and Jersey, each of which issue their own banknotes.
This month, we're putting a spotlight on Alan Collection Malaysia's Jersey QEII Set, which leads British Administration Set, 1963-Date, Issued Notes, Complete, Including Varieties, one of five categories in the PMG Registry for Jersey. The set has 33 of the possible 40 notes, all showing Queen Elizabeth II at various points during her reign.
The inaugural 1963 issues, the first issued after World War II, show a young portrait of the queen. New portraits were introduced with the issues in 1976, 1989, and 2010. In 2012, a commemorative was issued for the queen's diamond jubilee, celebrating the first 60 years of her reign.
This set was honored in 2021 with a PMG Registry Award for Overall Achievement. All but two of the notes are graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated or higher. With images of 32 notes, it is an excellent way to explore the currency issued by Jersey, which lies just off the coast of France.
Thank you, Alan Collection Malaysia, for sharing this set and so many others with your fellow collectors in the PMG Registry.
