Rarities from Puerto Rico and Colorado that are expected to sell for more than $100,000 are among hundreds of National Bank Notes being offered in a late April sale.

More than 500 National Bank Notes that are certified by PMG® are being offered in a sale presented by Heritage Auctions. Online bidding is already underway for Heritage's CSNS U.S. Currency Signature Auction #3601, which concludes on April 28 to May 1, 2026.

One of the top PMG-graded highlights in the auction is a San Juan, Island of Porto Rico 1902 $10 National Bank Note graded PMG 12 Fine (lot 20708), with an estimate of at least $125,000. A gem of any National collection, this example features the bust of President William McKinley and is from the only national bank on the island of Puerto Rico. It is also the only 1902 Blue Seal known from charter number 6484, with the other 13 known notes in the National Bank Note Census all 1902 Red Seals.

Another PMG-graded highlight in the auction is a Denver, Colorado Territory $20 National Bank Note with Serial Number 1 graded PMG 25 Very Fine (lot 20317), with an estimate of at least $125,000. According to the auction house, this rarity was once part of the famed Albert Grinnell collection and was sold in the 1940s. This particular note is one of only three Serial Number 1 Original Series $20s that are known for the entire country. It is also one of only three reported from a territorial bank. For this particular catalog number, the PMG Population Report includes only two examples, with this note being the finer of the pair.
