Several PMG-certified Vintage Dutch Proofs Offered in Crown Currency Auction

More than 150 rare notes from the Theo van der Waal Collection of Netherlands Paper Money that are certified by PMG® are being offered in an upcoming auction presented by Crown Currency. Bidding is already underway for Auction 51, with the auction concluding March 27, 2026.
Three of the top PMG-certified highlights in the sale are a Netherlands, Silver Note 1914 1 Gulden Proof graded PMG 65 Gem Uncirculated EPQ (lot 3), a Netherlands, Silver Note 1914 2 1/2 Gulden Proof graded PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ (lot 6) and a Netherlands, Silver Note 1914 5 Gulden Proof graded PMG 58 Choice About Uncirculated (lot 8). Proofs are banknote prototypes that are created as part of the test print process to demonstrate the intended final appearance of a note, which means Proofs are typically scarce. The 1 Gulden Proof is a “Top Pop,” tied for highest graded in the PMG Population Report.
