A Ming dynasty note is among an assortment of the fascinating notes featured.

Respected London-based auction house Spink is celebrating a milestone with its 360th Anniversary Sale, offering an eclectic selection of collectibles, including notes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®). Bidding is already underway for the auction, which concludes on December 9, 2025.

The top PMG-certified lot is one of the few paper money collectibles older than Spink itself, which was founded in 1666. The China - Ming Dynasty 1368-99 1 Kuan graded PMG 50 About Uncirculated (lot 37) has an estimate of £7,000 to £11,000 (about $9,200 to $14,500). The PMG Population Report lists 472 examples of this highly collectible note from the earliest years of the Ming Dynasty, with only 43 graded higher than this one. It has a starting bid of £1,666, a nod to the year in which Spink was founded.
