Noonans Offers Exceedingly Rare Caribbean Note Certified by PMG

A rare Caribbean note that hasn’t been seen in the marketplace in nearly a decade has made a reappearance in a Noonans auction set to end on November 27-28, 2025. Online bidding is already underway for Noonans’ World Banknotes auction, which includes hundreds of notes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®).
Regarded as one of the holy grails of British Commonwealth collecting, the Saint Lucia / British Administration 1920 10/- Shillings Specimen graded PMG 55 About Uncirculated (lot 932) has an estimate of £20,000 to £24,000 (about $26,100 to $31,400). This note was last seen at auction nearly a decade ago, and no issued notes are known in the marketplace, according to the auction house. It is the only Specimen of this catalog number that PMG has certified.

- a Straits Settlements / British Administration 1925-29 10 Dollars graded PMG 25 Very Fine (lot 1026) that has an estimate of £5,000 to £7,000 (about $6,600 to $9,200)
- a British Malaya, Sungei Buloh Settlement 1936 1 Dollar graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated (lot 1033) that has an estimate of £5,000 to £7,000 (about $6,600 to $9,200)
- a Southern Rhodesia / British Administration 1953 5 Pounds with Serial Number 2 graded PMG 53 About Uncirculated EPQ (lot 1013) that has an estimate of £5,000 to £7,000 (about $6,600 to $9,200)
