Heritage Offers More PMG-certified Rarities from the Peh Family Collection

Posted on 10/21/2025

World banknotes from the prestigious Peh Family Collection are available in a sale starting on December 5.

More selections of exquisite world banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) from an elite collection are available to collectors in an upcoming auction. Bidding begins in mid-November for Heritage Auctions’ HKINF World Paper Money Signature Auction - Hong Kong, which concludes on December 5, 2025.

The Peh Family Collection is a phenomenal group of numismatic rarities that included an England 1703 VIGO 5 Guineas that realized $900,000 in January 2024.

Now returning to the spotlight, the collection's latest offerings include a Malaya & British Borneo / British Administration 1953 1,000 Dollars graded PMG 50 About Uncirculated EPQ. Issued during the early years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, the 1953 Malaya and British Borneo $1,000 note was printed in limited numbers for high-value transactions. The note’s survival rate is remarkably low, as few were retained once smaller denominations became more practical. Collectors prize this denomination not only for its scarcity but for its place at the crossroads of British imperial and Southeast Asian monetary history.

Also available is a Malaya ND (1942) 10,000 Dollars Color Trial Specimen graded PMG 50 About Uncirculated. This specimen from the Malaya Board of Commissioners of Currency is a relic of wartime and postwar monetary design, and was never intended for public hands. Produced by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Company, this trial showcases the artistry and experimental precision of British note printing at its peak. No issued examples are recorded in the PMG Population — only eight examples of Color Trial Specimens alongside a handful other Specimens and Printer Proofs.
