PMG-certified Minnesota Rarity Among Obsoletes in Heritage Sale

A great rarity from Minnesota is among more than 300 Obsolete banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) that are being offered in an upcoming auction. Bidding begins in early July for Heritage Auctions' Summer U.S. Currency Obsolete Banknotes Showcase Auction #62406, which will be held July 27, 2025.
The sale includes a rarely seen Minnesota, Hokah 1859 $1 - La Crosse and La Crescent Bank graded PMG 12 Fine. Located on the Root River just a few miles west of La Crosse, Wisconsin, Hokah had its first town meeting in 1858, the same year Minnesota became a state. Only a handful of these Hokah notes are known to exist.

- a Texas, Austin 1839-41 Republic of Texas $50 graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated EPQ
- a Texas, Austin 1839-41 Republic of Texas $20 graded PMG 55 About Uncirculated EPQ
- a Texas, Houston 1838-39 Government of Texas $20 graded PMG 58 Choice About Uncirculated EPQ
- a Texas, Houston 1838-39 Government of Texas $10 graded PMG 58 Choice About Uncirculated
