Stack's Bowers Offers High-grade Canada $1,000 Note Certified by PMG

Over 30 world banknotes with five-figure estimates are being offered in the auction on January 13, 2024.

Collectors have their pick from over 400 stunning collectible world banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) in an upcoming Stack’s Bowers Galleries sale. Online bidding is already underway for the NYINC Auction of World Paper Money, which will be held on January 13, 2024.

The top lot in this auction is a Canada, Bank of Canada 1935 $1,000 - “English” graded PMG 67 Superb Gem Uncirculated EPQ (lot 60054) with an estimate of $50,000 to $70,000. The banknote showcases Sir Wilfrid Laurier, who was prime minister from 1896 to 1911. Remarkable as the highest denomination in the series, this particular banknote boasts the distinction of achieving the single-finest grade among nearly 70 examples in the PMG Population Report.
