Over 200 PMG-certified Banknotes from the Ibrahim Salem Collection Featured in Heritage Auctions Sale

More than 200 banknotes from the Ibrahim Salem Collection certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) are being offered in a Heritage Auctions sale. Online bidding is already underway for the Ibrahim Salem Collection of Islamic Countries Part I Signature® Auction, which is set to end on November 10, 2022.

One especially enticing note in the sale is a Zanzibar / British Administration, Government of Zanzibar (1908-28) 10 Rupees graded PMG 25 Very Fine. Zanzibar became a protectorate under the British Empire in the 19th century and started issuing its own banknotes in 1908. These notes were only issued in small quantities and became obsolete in 1930, making them extremely rare and valuable to collectors.
