Notes and coins from Imperial China are being sold in the Spink auction.

Coins and banknotes from the prestigious Dr. Werner Burger Collection that are certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) and Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) are being offered in an upcoming Spink auction. The collection is focused on numismatic rarities from China’s imperial era. Bidding is already underway for auction CSS82C and concludes on Oct 1, 2022.

Leading the pedigreed coins is a China 1905 Kwangsi Bronze Pattern 10 Cash graded NGC AU Details (lot 2058A). A pattern is a proposed design for a coin, and this one — from a region in southern China adjacent to Vietnam — is extremely rare. The lot has an estimate of HKD300,000 to HKD400,000 (about $38,200 to $51,000).
