Mavin International Sale Includes Rarities Certified by PMG and NGC

The July auction features a variety of rare currency, much of it from Southeast Asia.

Mavin International, a prestigious Singapore firm that serves as an Official Submission Center to Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) and Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®), will hold its Auction 60 sale, featuring NGC-certified coins and PMG-certified banknotes from around the world, on July 23 and July 30, 2022.

The top PMG-certified lot is a group of four Singapore, Board of Commissioners of Currency ND (1976) 1 Dollar notes, all graded PMG 65 Gem Uncirculated EPQ (lot 128). Each note has a fancy serial number (200000, 500000, 600000 and 700000) that carries a premium among banknote collectors. This group has a starting price of SG$7,500 (about $5,300 USD) and up.

Meanwhile, the sale also offers a variety of NGC-certified coins, including an England 1553 Crown graded NGC VF 20 (lot 313), which has a starting price of SG$7,500 (about $5,300 USD) and up. The English Crown was first issued during the reign of Edward VI, best known as Henry VIII’s only legitimate son. The boyish king, shown riding a horse, ascended the throne at the age of nine and ruled for just six years. This particular example was struck during the last year of Edward VI’s reign.
