BEP's Year of the Snake

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing introduces the latest in their Chinese Lunar Calendar notes.

First day of sale:  November 15, 2012 (8:00 a.m., Eastern Time) – The Snake is one of 12 zodiac symbols associated with the Chinese Lunar Calendar.  This lucky money product is exquisitely designed with decorative Chinese symbolism, and is packaged in a red folder with gold foil.  The product features an uncirculated $1 note with a serial number beginning with “8888.”   The “Year of the Snake” represents good fortune and prosperity, signifying success in the New Year.

Household quantity purchase limit restrictions for 1,000 sets will be imposed for the first week of release, November 15 – 22, 2012.  On November 23, 2012, household purchase restrictions will be waived.
