Marudhar Arts Offers NGC-certified Coins and PMG-certified Notes

Dozens of numismatic rarities from India certified by NGC or PMG are featured in an upcoming auction. Bidding is already underway for Marudhar Arts' Auction #53, which will be held February 21, 2026.
One of the top coins in the auction is an India 1877 Travancore 2 Pagodas graded NGC UNC Details (lot 358), with an estimate of 900,000 to 1,200,000 Rupees (about $9,900 to $13,000). The NGC Census lists a mere six examples of this coin, issued by the kingdom of Travancore at the southern tip of India near the beginning of the four-decade reign of the reformist Moolam Thirunal Rama.
The top note in the auction is an India, Government of India 1951 1 Rupee Specimen graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated EPQ (lot 456), with an estimate of 500,000 to 700,000 Rupees (about $5,500 to $7,700). Only two examples of this rare paper money collectible are listed in the PMG Population Report, with this being the higher graded.
Other NGC-certified highlights in the auction include:
- an India (1808-15) Madras Presidency 2 Pagodas graded NGC MS 65 (lot 380), with an estimate of 500,000 to 600,000 Rupees (about $5,500 to $6,600)
- an India AH1131//1 Mughal Mohur - Shah Jahan III graded NGC MS 62 (lot 260), with an estimate of 500,000 to 700,000 Rupees (about $5,500 to $7,700)
- an India 1888(C) Mohur graded NGC MS 61 (lot 422), with an estimate of 400,000 to 500,000 Rupees (about $4,400 to $5,500)
- an India 1918(B) 15 Rupees graded NGC MS 62 (lot 423), with an estimate of 350,000 to 400,000 Rupees (about $3,900 to $4,400)
- an India 1862(C) Mohur - 'V' on Reverse graded NGC MS 61 (lot 418), with an estimate of 325,000 to 375,000 Rupees (about $3,600 to $4,100)
Other PMG-certified highlights in the auction include:
- an India, Reserve Bank ND (1970) 100 Rupees Specimen graded PMG 50 About Uncirculated (lot 457), with an estimate of 400,000 to 500,000 Rupees (about $4,400 to $5,500)
- an India / British Administration ND (1917) 2 Rupees, 8 Annas graded PMG 20 Very Fine (lot 443), with an estimate of 400,000 to 500,000 Rupees (about $4,400 to $5,500)
- an India / British Administration 1918-19 100 Rupees graded PMG 30 Very Fine (lot 442), with an estimate of 400,000 to 500,000 Rupees (about $4,400 to $5,500)
- an India, Reserve Bank 2013 100 Rupees Replacement graded PMG 58 Choice About Uncirculated (lot 460), with an estimate of 300,000 to 500,000 Rupees (about $3,300 to $5,500)
- an India - Princely States / Hyderabad 1920-36 5 Rupees graded PMG 35 Choice Very Fine (lot 452), with an estimate of 250,000 to 350,000 Rupees (about $2,800 to $3,900)
