Error Note?

I have a one dollar note. 1995 missing 1 digit and 1 letter from the serial number. I have had a number of people look at it and most all agree that it is real. One person felt that someone had used a pencil eraser to remove the number and letter, is that even possible? Anyhow if this is the "real deal" any thoughts on value?

I believe they are called slipped digits...something like that. There was an article in the BNR about a year ago about them. What are you going to do with it?

---I just took a gum eraser and starting rubbing on the last digit and letter. They aren't as dark green as they were before I started. So, I guess it is possible.
