The last ones were series 2003, and the are still FRNs with green seals. The BEP has repeatedly stated they have no plans to redesign the $1 or $2, so I think either they misspoke or you misheard them.

Well, no one thought they would print them again after the 1976 issue, and they printed more in 1995 and 2003. My guess is they will likely print some more in 5 or 10 years, or whenever the existing supply runs low.

It is true that the BEP has said no plans to redesign however: Since they last said that they have been progressively redesigning the 100's then the 50's then the 20's and have said they have plans to redesign all the notes to the new standard over time. Whether $2's will be printed in the new standard depends on how long it takes the BEP to get that far and whether any more $2 notes are printed after the redesign.

Cool thread to update: Since the last post, we have three new series of $2 FRNs: 2009A, 2009, and 2013.

We also have some very tough stars: 2003A F* 320,000 notes, L* 384,000 notes and unreported. 2009 B* 128,000 notes, the "common 2009 K* at 512,000 notes and the unreported 2009 L* at 128,000 notes. Lastly (as of the October 2014 BEP report: 2013 F* at 640,000 notes.

That list should keep $2 FRN collectors busy for quite awhile.
