There are many resources available that will help you to get more information regarding your notes. One of the easiest is to simply do a Google search for such information. Use the date of issue, state of issue- city- denomination etc. and you will find more information regarding the notes and often current values that will vary widely depending upon condition, rarity, signatures, etc. 

Same for any reference books, Many are available if you just do some research.

There are three books that you can use as a reference for Confederate.  If I recall correctly, PMG uses the Friedberg catalog numbering system for Confederate notes, which start with CS-##, and found in "Paper Money of the United States" guide published by Coin & Currency Institute.  A second reference book is titled "Confederate States Paper Money" published by Krause Publications. The third book is "Comprehensive Catalog of Confederate Paper Money" published by BNR books.  Hope this helps you out.
