Yeah the site had all the FR black eagles and discussed the rarities by signature. The "FRN-272" for xampke was the link and then it took you to a pic of the bills. Somewhat of a crude site.

 

On a side note, if the FRN numbers have become the hobby standard of identification is it really copywright-able? Kinda the way everyone lists their world coins by KM number on ebay. Doesnt seem like there is harm in that to me. FRN afterall is an acronym for Federal Reserve Note which no one should be able to copywright IMO

FR is shorthand for Friedburg the last name of the authors of the catalog.

 

FRN is shorthand for Federal Reserve Note.

 

There is a difference.

 

Black Eagles are silver certificates not Federal Reserve Notes.
