Hello, once again I would like to take a survey.

Recently I have been trying to get myself on a budget for buying currency.

It’s been very difficult, so much to buy, so much to collect.

So tell us, what is your monthly budget for your currency collection?

(If you don't have a monthly budget, just average out what you have been spending over a year to a monthly average).

SURVEY - WHAT IS YOUR MONTHLY SPENDING BUDGET?

try to find the amount that is closest to what you spend.

NOTE: if you spend less than $10,000 per year,

see the more detailed survey below.

thanks

Thanks everyone for taking the survey.

It really made me think about a budget.

I’ve been spending way too much money.

I’m going to try to stay under

$10,000/year = $800/month = $200/week.

Even that amount looks like a lot of money for a hobby.

Maybe limit to buy one note a week. Have fun

Hello,

I really don't consider this to be an intrusive survey, so I thought I would respond. In the hobby of collecting and investing in paper money, you really can't obtain any of the better pieces without spending a lot of money. I know some of my recent purchases include a 1891 $1 Silver Certificate in PMG 64 EPQ, a 1899 $2 Silver Certificate in PMG 64 EPQ and now I am trying to obtain a 1891 $1 Treasury Note in PMG 64 EPQ. Therefore, this can be an expensive hobby to say the least. Hope that helps.

Sincerely,

Hello, well I tried to stay within my budget last month.

I’m going to try to stay under

$10,000/year = $800/month = $200/week.

Last month I spent $1,300 in October.

Maybe this month I will be more disciplined.

Christmas and taxes are approaching along with higher heating bills.

Thanks again for taking the survey.

Have fun.

I agree with John (TheRock), that it's hard to stay on a budget. There's so many nice notes out there, and currently they are less exspensive then they have ever been.....at least the notes that I collect. It's like moving to Florida and needing to buy a house. There's never been a better time.

Do you guys think that prices are depressed across all paper currency, or are there only certain types? One of the things I've found the hardest is that if you just have one "collection" going, then the hobby is slowwwwww!!! So, I'm trying to start up a few different type sets to going, so I can "multitask"! If there are certain notes/sets of notes that seem to be underpriced, I'd certainly be willing to move those higher up the queue in terms of my interest....
